FROM LT SCOTT SPENCER/MCSO
On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at approximately 11:30 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a welfare concern at a residence, in the 12500 block of Royal Lake Drive, Conroe, Texas.

While in route to the residence, Deputies were advised that the reportee had received a call from the 68-year-old victim advising her son, Wade Wyatt (W/M) DOB 09-20-90 was holding her against her will. The victim told the reportee that her son had a gun in his mouth and was threatening to kill himself and her. The victim also told the reportee that, her son was high on drugs and had beat her with the gun and that she was hurt. The reportee also made numerous threats toward law enforcement if they were contacted.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the location and attempted to establish communication with the suspect, but received no response. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office mobilized their SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) to respond to the scene. While deputies were positioning themselves around the residence to make contact with the suspect, they could hear the victim in distress and the suspect refused to let her leave.

At that time members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT announced their presence and attempted to enter the residence. Upon doing so they were immediately confronted by the suspect and the victim. Deputies attempted to extract the victim while attempting to gain compliance with the suspect. The suspect refused to follow the Deputies commands to comply and at that time pointed a firearm at the Deputies. Due to the suspect’s actions, and fearing for the life of the victim and law enforcement, one of the deputies discharged their drawn weapon at the suspect, striking him. The suspect then dropped the firearm at which time Deputies began to administer life-saving measures to the suspect. Emergency Medical Services were already on location and immediately began medical treatment. The suspect was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital and his condition is currently unknown.

The victim was treated for numerous injuries on the scene that were caused by the suspect.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office as well as the Texas Rangers are investigating.

Copy of the Police Report:

On 4/15/2018, at approximately 17:53 hours, I heard three gunshots fired south of my location at Sunset Park. I was on patrol at the park north of the “Foxtrot” area of the park where I heard the gunshots from. Next to the baseball fields near Foxtrot area, I was being flagged down by three males as they pointed towards the location of the gun shots. I advised LVMPD dispatch immediately via radio.

I approached the bathrooms near a gazebo and took cover briefly to assess the scene. I observed a female down near a picnic bench with blood around her head and a male rolling on his sides with blood. A large crowd was running and screaming as numerous people entered into their vehicle’s leaving the immediate area. I advised LVMPD Dispatch to give me a “Code Red” and approached the two down subjects with my weapon drawn scanning for unknown threats as I did not know who the shooter was. Numerous subjects while screaming approached me yelling that the suspect fled in a purple Dodge Charger southbound on Eastern Avenue towards Warm Springs Road. I relayed the information to responding officers. I was also advised by numerous witnesses the shooter was an employee of the XXXXX named XXXXX. I immediately rendered aid to the female shot in the head, later identified as XXXXX. XXXXX as she was the more critically wounded victim. The male shot, later identified as XXXXX, XXXXX had a gunshot wound on the stomach from the left side to the right, and the left buttocks. XXXXX was conscious and breathing. Barn arrived on scene and immediately rendered medical aid to XXXXX using a trauma kit sealing the stomach gunshot wounds which stopped the bleeding. Sgt. Barn used a compression bandage on the gunshot to the buttocks.
