You've just purchased a medical kit and note its contents. You're familiar with some but aren't quite sure about all of the items. Perhaps you're curious how the hemostatic gauze actually helps to clot blood flow? Maybe you're not sure the correct placement of a tourniquet on an injured limb? And what the heck is a "vented" chest seal?!
Having a medical kit is a great first step. The best thing you can do for yourself, and quite possibly others, is to get quality training on the use of your kit, the signs and symptoms of various injuries and/or illnesses, how to determine the level of acuity (severity) of a victim and then how to administer the proper treatment.
Once you get the training and learn how to use the components in your trauma kit, it's important that you continue to practice applying a tourniquet, packing wounds, and so on. That's where the Training Bundle comes in. Our Training Bundle has everything you need to practice using your trauma kit.
The training bundle includes:
- 4" EMERGENCY TRAUMA DRESSING - TRAINER
- HYFIN CHEST SEAL TWIN PACK - TRAINER
- QUIKCLOT TRAINING COMBAT GAUZE
- TRAINING COMBAT APPLICATION TOURNIQUET (CAT) or
- TRAINING SOFTT-W TOURNIQUET
This is great training kit, has all the STB stuff needed in it, from what I can tell. Putting this to use this weekend at a class for extra practice. All already in an easy-to-purchase kit, thanks guys!!
I never thought I would be showing others anything related to Stop the Bleed. Then learned that the surgeons and NP's in our Church have not had any training on TQ application, ever saw a Israeli bandage etc. I am covering with the small 6 man Security Team all non medical how to apply these life saving techniques incrementally when I host the monthly range sessions.
Fits and is very comfortable. Do I wish I could carry and conceal more on my ankle, yes but the basic are there.
