    Ankle Medical Kit

Posted by Benjamin on Jan 9th 2020

This kit is an exceptional purchase. It successfully holds all of the bare minimum basic life supports. Aside from the CAT poking out (not a huge deal anyway but is solved by the SOFTT-W) and the decompression needle sliding up (which was fixed by placing it in any other compartment), this kit is the best. It is comfortable to wear all day every day and wears incredibly slow. Great product and even greater customer care from the Dark Angel Medical team.

    Ankle Trauma Kit

Posted by Benjamin Tussing on Jan 9th 2020

This kit is an excellent product. It successfully holds all of the base essential medical supplies in an unobtrusive, secure manner. The only problems that I had with it were the CAT and the decompression needle. The kit holds the CAT effectively, but it does poke out in a noticeable manner (at least for a small man like myself). This is not a flaw in the kit, but if one substitutes it with the SOFTT-W, then this problem is resolved. Also, the decompression needle did keep sliding up during the day, so I simply put it in another compartment and the issue was resolved. These being said, the kit works marvelously and is very comfortable. Great product and even better customer care from the Dark Angel Medical team.

    Ankle kit

I believe this kit holds the essentials for treating a penetrating wound. The items fit snugly in the pockets which translates into they won't fall out. It doesn't take long to get used to wearing the kit around your ankle and is unobtrusive in daily duties. This kit allows another option for carrying potential life saving items. I would recommend taking a class with Dark Angel Medical to become competent in using the gear. They put on some great classes!

    Ankle kit

Posted by Alan Dusseault on Nov 16th 2019

Having taken the first class and carrying the larger D.A.R.K. I wanted a smaller, easier to carry kit. The ankle kit is perfect. Unless you're the type that wears skinny jeans! It gives me the ability to respond immediately rather than having to reach for or search for the DARK in a situation where it may have been tossed about. As long as I can reach my ankle I'm good to go. Then if more aid is necessary, I always have the other kit nearby as well.

    Ankle Med Kit

Posted by Thomas on Nov 14th 2019

Another excellent product by DAM. I was on the fence about the kit at first because I was concerned about bulk and printing. Mike (one of their instructors) let me try his on and I was sold. I’ve been wearing it everyday for a few weeks now and don’t notice it at all. Having the kit with me at all times gives me a little piece of mind. I added a CPR mask to mine and would go with the sofftw if you want a little slimmer profile. Everyone should be EDCing some medical. You’re more likely to need it than a gun but, why not carry both. One more thing, if you have an opportunity to take one of their classes do it.

    Several kits

Posted by Alex P on Nov 13th 2019

I have several kits form Dark angel medical. And have had several form other brands. Dark Angel is by far the best out there. I don't trust anyone else. My life and the life of my friends and family is worth it.

    Ankle Trauma Kit

Posted by Ian Macfie on Aug 13th 2019

Pretty good so far, the supplies seem well retained but I haven't exactly been rough with it. I will have to try a few vaults over a wall or running for an extended distance. The "printing" isn't a dramatic problem but I'm also not wearing skinny jeans at work either. Still very impressed that I can carry everything for minimalistic blowout kit comfortably for an entire 12 hour shift.

    Excellent

I wanted to wait a bit before posting a review, and about a month and a half of carrying it every day I'm happy to say I'm pleased with the product. Fitment is great, as the product fits when I'm wearing fits when I wear ankle height boots for my job, or low tops when I'm off duty. So far, the ankle trauma kit shows no signs of premature wear or tear. Would buy again

    Fit

I got this kit for everyday wear as I am in a variety of industries and know firsthand the benefits of having such a kit. It takes some getting use to. Probably the most uncomfortable use is while riding horses the kit interferes with contact with the horse, I rotated and was able to make do with it. It surprisingly doesn’t weigh hardly anything. It does fit well inside my cowboy boots, however it does (as expected) add a little bit of “girth to my boot top.

    Comfy

Posted by Devin on May 30th 2019

I got this to wear at work and am honestly surprised at how comfortable it is. I work in a light industrial setting and through all the up and down, out and about of my day it holds on strong and I barely remember I'm wearing it. Love it great product and a great price

    The Ankle Kit

Posted by Daniel on Apr 3rd 2019

I’ve been wearing this for approximately two weeks now. I work a 5-day work week Monday through Friday and I put this kit on in the morning before I head to work. When I get to work I change into my uniform and put it back on. I leave it on for the 8 hour shift and then wear it back home and take it off when I get home. On a normal work day I am wearing this for about 10 hours. I also wear it on the weekends if I go out anywhere. The ankle holster is so comfortable and light weight that I barely notice I have it on most of the time. The items that it comes with all fit nice and snug in their little slots and the holster has little bungee type cords built into each slot with a quick grab red tab to put around the items to keep them from falling out. I have been using those tabs for all of the items except the tourniquet, the TQ seems to really stay in place and if I were to need it very quickly I wouldn’t want to deal with trying to get the cord off of it. Also, the slot for the tourniquet has a piece of fabric that rises up higher than the rest of the holster to protect your leg from the tourniquet rubbing against it. I do feel that if I am wearing sneakers then the holster seems to be a little bit large (because my ankles are small) so I took a strip of Velcro and stitched it onto the small slot that is there for the decompression needle. I don’t carry one of those so I’m not worried about stitching that slot closed. This way I can make the holster a bit tighter when it is strapped on lower down my leg but still has enough Velcro when I am wearing higher boots. I haven’t felt that wearing the holster on my ankle gives too much of an imprint and I would rather have a little imprint and the kit with me than nothing at all. Also, I don’t have a lot of room on my pistol belt at work so I don’t have the room to carry a trauma kit on my belt. I have been very happy with this ankle holster and honestly don’t see anything to complain about with it other than it being a little loose on my ankle when wearing low sneakers but I fixed that issue but stitching some more Velcro into it.

    Ankle kit

Posted by Chris on Jan 15th 2019

It's a great kit so far, it's easily conclied compared to the DARK or DARK slim. The only this is it was extremely hard to put the contents into the pouches which leaves me to believe that it will be equally bad hard to get out especially under stress. The tie down tabs are a bit flimsy but overall it's a great kit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone with any skill level
